1. The Buffalo Bill Center of The West


In partnership with the Smithsonian, this museum actually houses five smaller museums and a research library. Within the BBCOW you will find the Buffalo Bill Museum which focuses on the man that founded the town and his wild west show, while the Cody firearms section houses over 7,000 firearms! 2. Heart Mountain World War II Historic Center


Next on our list is a sobering trip to the past. About 13 miles outside of Cody, over 14,000 Japanese Americans were confined during World War II. 3. The Buffalo Bill Dam and Visitor Center


It has been said that without the dam, Cody Wyoming would not exist. In 1910, when it was constructed, this was the tallest dam in the country! At number 5, we have a ghost-town like museum on the edge of town.
